In 2017 (while on the way to a gig) musicians John and Tom decided to put their stamp on the world of specialty coffee. John was a keen home barista looking to learn more and Tom was a working barista frustrated at the lack of opportunities to get into the roasting side of the industry.
They decided to take the leap and invest in a tabletop 1kg roaster and set it up in an old stone shed next to Tom’s house.
This stone shed in a valley in West Cork was where they spent the next six months. Through much trial and error, experimentation and over-caffeination they were able to develop a style of roasting that they loved and that they knew other people would enjoy too.
In the years since the business has grown to having 15 employees across the roastery operations and the shop in Clonakilty.
They now roast on a state of the art 30kg IMF coffee roaster allowing even more clarity of flavour as well as more capacity to meet the ever increasing demand.
They work with cafes and businesses all over the island of Ireland who are united in one simple thing; they value great coffee.
